MINISTRY FOCUS
Volunteers are an essential part of the ministry of Cadence International, and they come from all walks of life. Volunteers are often Cadence alumni, while others have been on the receiving end of Cadence programs or have family members who have been impacted by Cadence ministries. In other cases, they are simply individuals who have a heart for our military and a desire to serve them. Volunteers serve in two main areas: Facilities Maintenance and Ministry Support.
Volunteers serve in ways that enable Cadence staff to fully focus their efforts on ministering directly to the military community. The ripple effect of this service extends not only to Cadence families but also to military personnel, their spouses, and their children. Although a volunteer’s work is often behind the scenes, they still have opportunities to interact personally with military members.
Volunteers assist with a wide range of projects. Facilities Maintenance Volunteers provide a range of services, from routine maintenance on Cadence hospitality houses to more complex construction projects, including roofing, plumbing, electrical work, painting, landscaping, and carpentry. Hospitality houses are a crucial part of Cadence ministry, and it’s vital to keep them updated, safe, and welcoming. Ministry Support Volunteers assist Cadence staff with childcare, cooking, cleaning, organizing, and hosting events, such as Vacation Bible School and retreats. Volunteers can serve individually or as part of a team in stateside and overseas.
