MINISTRY FOCUS
Michael Peavey served in the U.S. Navy from 2006 to 2016 and was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan, from 2007 to 2013. He counts it an honor and a privilege to be back in Yokosuka ministering to the military community. Michael has a passion for teaching and preaching the Word of God and loves having biblical, Christ-centered discussions. Michael’s focus on the military in Yokosuka is on men’s ministry and discipleship.
FAITH
Michael was raised in a Christian home, but did not accept Christ as his Savior until he was nineteen. After some ups and downs in his relationship with the Lord, Michael was baptized and began the lengthy process of making Christ not only his Savior but also his Lord. About five years ago, Michael began feeling the Lord calling him to ministry. Out of obedience, Michael began attending Colorado Christian University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies.
FAMILY
Michael is married to Ayako Peavey, whom he met in Yokosuka, Japan, in 2008, and married in 2009. He was born in Amarillo, Texas, but having spent most of his life in Albany, Georgia, Michael considers Albany to be home. His parents, three older brothers, little sister, and a slew of nieces and nephews all reside in Albany, Georgia, and Houston, Texas.
