MINISTRY FOCUS

The Kayll’s lead “Wayfinder House” in the Colorado Springs Area, close to Peterson Space Force Base. Jay and Jerri invite men and women from the Peterson community into their lives and home. They share Jesus through small groups, coffee, and conversations about next steps with God. They are passionate about helping believers follow Christ and make Him known.

FAITH

Jay grew up in Victoria, British Columbia and trusted Jesus when he was 15 at a youth camp. The speaker said there were only two teams you could be on—Satan’s team or God’s team. Jay realized he wanted to join God’s team, and later prayed and asked God for forgiveness. He joined the youth group from camp and there began his first steps in following Jesus.

Jerri grew up in a Mennonite settlement surrounded by Kansas wheat fields. She left home her last two years of high school and attended a Mennonite boarding school near her grandparents. One weekend, her grandpa asked Jerri if she was a Christian, and she said, “I don’t understand the question . . . I’m a Mennonite!” When he led her through verses from the book of John, Jerri realized for the first time who Jesus really was and trusted Him for her salvation.

FAMILY

Jay and Jerri were called to Cadence/OCSC as single missionaries with Malachi Youth Ministries. They met while serving in Germany in 1985 and have spent much of their married life in Cadence. Jerri has served on two Malachi singing teams, at Pirmasens chapel (Germany), and on the Cadence Board of Directors. Jay has served at Patch/Stuttgart and Hanau chapels (Germany). Together, they have served in the chapels of Heidelberg, Fort Carson, and five years at Cadence HQ developing the Alumni Ministry.

Jay and Jerri enjoy doing life and ministry together! Jay loves to connect with people, whether it’s through Cadence, at church, in his neighborhood, on the golf course, or over coffee. Jerri loves to read, pray, connect with others (one at a time), and make things beautiful.
