MINISTRY FOCUS

Jerri recently joined the Headquarters Communications Team as their Communications Coordinator. This creative and multifaceted role includes writing, editing, research, and design. Jerri is excited about researching and developing collaborative projects between Headquarters and field missionaries. She will help tell the stories of how the gospel interacts with and transforms the lives of military people.

Jerri’s adventure of sharing the gospel and her life with the military began in 1984. Past assignments include evangelistic concerts on military installations in Europe, discipleship of military personnel and teens, leading chapel youth ministry, shepherding Cadence Interns, serving as an Admin Assistant in the Europe Field Office, co-pioneering the Cadence Alumni department, serving on the Cadence Board of Directors, hospitality house adult ministry for Airmen and Guardians, and PWOC involvement.

FAITH

Jerri grew up in a small Mennonite settlement surrounded by Kansas wheat fields. She heard of Jesus in her younger years but never imagined that He would notice her. When she was 15, God used difficult circumstances to transplant Jerri into a small boarding school community near her grandparents. One weekend, her grandpa asked Jerri if she was a Christian, and she said, “I don’t understand the question . . . I’m a Mennonite!” Together, they read passages from the Gospel of John. Jerri’s eyes were opened wide to see how Jesus not only noticed her but also loved her. It was a wonderful day when Jerri gave her life to her loving Savior, Jesus!

FAMILY

In 2024, Jerri lost her sister-in-law, mother, and father. She is thankful for her sister, brothers, nieces, nephews, their spouses, grandnieces, and grandnephews. They are so precious! God has also provided Jerri with deep friends who invite her into their lives and families. These relationships help her grasp how wide and long and high and deep the love of Jesus is.
