MINISTRY FOCUS

Ethan and Emma are serving at the Stride House, where the ministry is focused on single and newly married airmen at Hill Air Force Base in Utah. They will partner closely with the chapel staff to reach airmen at the chapel, in their dorms, and through outreach activities designed for those without a faith background. In addition to hosting a weekly lunch and Bible study at the base chapel, they also run STRIDE Fridays, which takes place every Friday night at the hospitality house. These ministry nights include a home-cooked meal, Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and games.

FAITH

Ethan and Emma both came to a saving faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. Growing up in homes where ministry took place, they were privileged to be surrounded by role models who constantly pointed them toward the gospel. As Ethan grew older, he realized that his faith was not his own and that he was riding the spiritual coattails of his family members. During high school, Ethan was plugged into a Cadence youth group, where he was encouraged and mentored in ways that helped him make his faith his own.

Emma had a similar experience. Through youth group, mentorship, and a strong Christian community, she learned what it was like to truly have a deep and personal relationship with the Lord. Her faith grew exponentially amid family trials in college, and she is so grateful to have a good and perfect God to lean upon.

Although there have been struggles for both along the way, they strive daily to grow closer in their relationships with Jesus and hope to serve Him well in life.

FAMILY

Ethan grew up in a military family with his parents and a younger brother, so his definition of home has changed over time. He has lived in seven states and two countries. Ethan graduated from Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in youth ministry. Emma spent most of her childhood growing up in South Carolina with her parents and younger sisters. Emma graduated from Lander University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Ethan and Emma met while living in Lynchburg, Virginia, as Emma was beginning her master’s degree and Ethan was working towards joining Cadence. They currently live with their two sweet female cats, Ricki Bobbi and Jenny, and hope to start a family soon.
