MINISTRY FOCUS

Elise shares the gospel and her life with students in grades 6-12 in the Naval community of Yokosuka, Japan. She engages with students and their families on and off base through hospitality, discipleship, regular youth groups, and adventures. Military youth face the typical challenges of teenagers, but with the added pressures of the military’s transient lifestyle. The challenges and stressors these students experience are unique to the military culture and create opportunities for the hope of Christ to transform their hearts. Through gospel-centered student ministry, Elise desires to shine the light of Jesus into their lives.

FAITH

Elise grew up in a multi-generational Christian family. Church ministry and discipleship have always been a large part of her life. She gave her life to Christ in early elementary school and was baptized a few years later. In her junior year of high school, Elise sensed God calling her to pursue full-time ministry. This step of faith led to her growing love for God and for ministry as she pursued education at the Moody Bible Institute. Her faith has continued to develop as the Lord fosters in her a deep love for serving His church and shepherding others in their love for Him.

FAMILY

Elise was raised in Dubuque, Iowa, and moved with her family to the suburbs of Chicago before her 8th-grade year. She has enjoyed growing up and entering adulthood alongside her three siblings in the suburbs. Her father is a Bible professor at The Moody Bible Institute, and her parents are both active in ministry at their local church. Her grandparents have all been actively involved in church ministry. Elise is grateful for her family’s support as she pursues the Lord’s calling in her life. Elise is also grateful for the many friendships the Lord has given her through church, ministry, and her time at The Moody Bible Institute.
