MINISTRY FOCUS

After 35 years of military ministry in five different military locations in Germany, Alaska, and Utah, Dan is beginning to slow down a bit. After experiencing a spinal cord injury at an airmen event in May 2024 and undergoing multiple surgeries and the recovery process, he decided it was time to take a step back to continue his recovery and serve in more supportive, behind-the-scenes roles. These may include continued work at Hill Air Force Base, new missionary coaching and mentoring, and filling in for communities when a primary missionary is away for extended periods.

FAITH

Dan embraced God’s forgiveness of his sins and developed an active relationship with Him during his freshman year in high school. His faith became real, and he grew rapidly in Christ through daily Bible reading and prayer. Dan’s walk with God has continued to shape his life and ministry ever since.

FAMILY

Dan grew up on a farm in Sparta, Wisconsin, with one brother and two sisters. He married Barb Lavenau in college, and together they adopted two children, Caleb and Audrey. After a courageous battle with brain cancer, Barb went to be with Jesus. Later, Dan met and married Melissa Pringle, who came to faith in Christ during her 30s.
