MINISTRY FOCUS

Dalton Kalas is a new member of the Cadence team. He is focusing on Partnership Development, the process of raising ministry funds, as he prepares for full-time service with Cadence.

Dalton was introduced to Cadence while serving as an active-duty Soldier in the Army. Once he has raised his full support, he will partner with the missionaries already ministering to the military through the Cadence House of Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM), WA. Although Cadence is a ministry that serves both men and women, Dalton will focus on ministering to men specifically. This will involve teaching a weekly men’s group, discipling guys individually, and planning events that enable the men to grow closer to Christ and each other. Dalton will also be on rotation to give the sermon that follows dinner every Friday night at the Cadence House. Dalton’s prayer is that God would use these efforts to transform Soldiers and Airmen and that they would, in turn, share the gospel with their coworkers.

FAITH

Dalton came to faith in Christ when he was six years old after his teacher at a Christian school taught him what it means to be saved. He grew in his faith, but it was not until his college years that he took the opportunity to pursue Christ in a more personal way. Dalton struggled with various aspects of his faith as he navigated some trials during those years and post-graduation, but the Lord graciously grew in him an even stronger faith. Since joining the military and being introduced to Cadence, Dalton has been given opportunities to share and exercise his faith, further deepening his relationship with Christ.

FAMILY

Dalton and Kayti were married on October 2, 2021 and they have one daughter named Millie. Dalton’s parents live in Michigan and his younger brother lives in Texas where he is starting his career. Kayti grew up as a military kid and lived in many places in the States as well as in Italy for two years. She considers North Carolina to be home, which is where most of her family live. Kayti has one older sister who is married to an Army officer.
