CADENCE STORY

Brent was first introduced to Cadence by two board members, longtime friends since their days as freshmen in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M. It was during a football game at A&M that Brent shared with David Cordell, who leads the Cadence Cadet Ministry there and sits behind Brent at each home game, and visiting Cadence President Dave Hutchings that someday, when he and his wife, Meredith, moved to Colorado, he would like to support Cadence. God made that statement happen sooner rather than later. Brent is excited to serve this organization and those who give their lives to serve their country. Being part of Cadence is a blessing to his spirit and keeps his hands and mind involved in God’s work.

ABOUT

Brent spent 35 years in the financial services industry with primary experience in Retail Banking. For the past 21 years, he worked for Bank of America and Navy Federal Credit Union, leading a Department of Defense contract, the Overseas Military Banking Program. This program manages over 250 ATMs and 59 branch locations across 11 countries, directly supporting service members and their families, as well as the base and support structure. Those stationed overseas will know this as Community Bank operated by Navy Federal Credit Union.

FAMILY

Brent and his wife, Meredith, have been married since 1996. His son works for Microsoft in Seattle, and his daughter is an oncology nurse in Dallas. They are enjoying this empty-nester season and making the most of it. They spent two years living in Germany before moving to San Antonio, Texas, in 2006, where they raised their family. Brent is from a small town in Texas and attended Texas A&M. While his competitive running days are behind him, he has completed 24 marathons. He also enjoys writing, volunteering at their local church, and getting his travel fix through his day job.
