MINISTRY FOCUS

Alamo City Cadence Community was launched in 2024 by Kevin and Sharon Scheible. They share the gospel and their lives with the medical trainees on Fort Sam Houston, one of three installations that make up Joint Base San Antonio. Since these trainees have limited off-base privileges, the Scheibles seek to bring Cadence-style ministry to them on base. They desire to help each trainee take the next step in their walk with Jesus.

“Joint Base San Antonio services more Department of Defense students than any other installation, more active runways than any other installation, houses the DOD’s largest hospital and only level one trauma center, and supports more than 250,000 personnel.” (Joint Base San Antonio History)

Through partnerships with chaplains, the Scheibles serve the Fort Sam community in various ways. They lead or co-lead Bible studies, serve with Protestant Women of the Chapel, worship and volunteer at chapel services, co-lead Military Reboot Trauma Recovery courses, and meet military members for one-on-one disciple-making.
