Cadence ministries are strategically placed near military bases that serve as landing places for men and women at a critical time in their lives. Below is a wonderful story of baptisms and changed lives.

Scott and Rebecca Crawford recently baptized six people as part of their Hospitality House ministry near Jacksonville Naval Air Station.

One young man had grown up unchurched but began spending time at their hospitality house. His time with the people there introduced him to Christianity and the value of a community that bears one another’s burdens, shares in one another’s sorrows, and celebrates each other. He gave his life to Christ, got married, and was baptized all in the same week!

These six young people have experienced the transformational power of the Holy Spirit in their lives, and only God knows where He will send them next. Wherever that may be, they are now going forth as witnesses to what they experienced:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

Thank you for your gifts to Cadence International. It’s your faithful prayers, relational support, and generous giving that make ministry to the military community possible all around the globe.

You likely learned to pray, give, and serve as you were discipled in your faith. This is also true in the lives of those we minister to at Cadence. Whether we are ministering to service members who are mature believers or who have recently come to faith, our missionaries disciple them by modeling the ways of Jesus. Most often this occurs incarnationally in life-on-life contexts, as we give those we are discipling opportunities to share the gospel with their words and also in their actions.

At Larry and BB Blakely’s ministry at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Virginia, the soldiers and airmen they are equipping serve at the local Rescue Mission.

RJ and Sabrina Prestwich, who serve near Joint Base Lewis- McChord in Washington state, give the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines opportunities to provide practical help to others. The servicemembers recently collected meals and provided childcare for a family that suffered a miscarriage.

The habits of service formed now in the lives of these young men and women will have a lasting impact on the world around them as they continue to serve in Jesus’ name in the years to come.

Your donations to Cadence truly make a difference. From where you sit, you most likely can’t see the full impact of these gifts on servicemembers all over the world. Allow me to share with you a glimpse of how God is at work through your generous giving. Consider the following words from Cadence staff, Duncan and Suzanne Forbes, who work with sailors at The Lighthouse in Yokosuka, Japan:

“The aircraft carrier U.S.S. George Washington recently pulled back into port, as did several other ships. Amidst all the chaos of the carrier’s arrival, I overheard several sailors stating that they had to clear out their racks on the ship and move back into the barracks. What that means is that everything they own, which fits into the locking drawer under their bed and into the space allotted them in a locker, must be packed into a seabag or two and brought back to the barracks room assigned to them.

“And what struck me as they were talking is that everything they own can fit into two bags. All their uniforms, underwear, socks, shoes, work boots, workout gear; all their civilian clothes, personal effects, toiletries, books, pictures, papers; most of their worldly possessions fit into just two bags.”

For servicemembers like this, the abundance of Cadence hospitality houses, like The Lighthouse, stands out and draws them in. It’s not so much about possessions but about a sense of home. These houses abound with the scent of home-cooked meals, the comfort of old couches, and the warmth of family.

Hospitality houses function as places of abundance amid scarcity—somewhere people can relax and be who they are. That’s a powerful experience for someone who can fit most of what they own into two bags, and it’s a powerful draw to the abundance of Jesus, who came to give life and give it to the full (John 10:10).

Your giving is what makes this kind of fruitful, life-on-life ministry possible. We are seeing lives changed and the Holy Spirit at work. Thank you for being an crucial part of what God is doing.

As we step into a new year, I want to begin by thanking you for your faithful partnership in the gospel. Your generosity, prayers, and encouragement continue to strengthen Cadence in remarkable ways. Because of you, the good news of Christ’s finished work is shared across military communities worldwide. I am deeply grateful for the way you stand with us.

This year, I would like to invite you to something essential. It is something I believe will shape the future of Cadence and expand the reach of the gospel in powerful ways, and it is something many of you are already doing.

Throughout 2026, our staff will be engaging in intentional rhythms and practices of prayer. We are seeking the Lord with renewed focus, asking Him to lead, sustain, and empower every part of this mission. We know that whatever God intends to do in and through Cadence is bigger than any of us and will be accomplished by His Spirit, not our strength.

On the night before His crucifixion, Jesus prayed that His people would be united—sanctified in truth, defined by love, and one in purpose (John 17). As we pray as one, we reflect the power of the resurrection in our lives, we declare the glory of God, and we will see His Kingdom come in a broken world.

As we step into 2026, we believe prayer must anchor us. I want to invite you, our partners and fellow laborers, to join our staff and leadership in this renewed call to prayer. We long to see God move in power throughout the military community, and we know this work always begins on our knees. As we travel through Advent and enter a new year, our hearts are filled with joy and gratitude for the wonder of Christ’s incarnation. The eternal Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us (John 1:14). In that mystery, we find both our salvation and our calling to live incarnationally among those God has placed in our lives. Because Cadence believes so deeply in the power of incarnate ministry, it is one of our longstanding Core Values.

This is the heartbeat of Cadence International. Our missionaries open their homes and lives to military communities worldwide, embodying Christ’s love in tangible, hospitable ways. Yet this ministry is not ours alone. It is yours as well. Through your prayers, encouragement, and financial partnership, you participate in this incarnate witness of the gospel. Together, we create spaces where Christ is seen, known, and embraced.

The Apostle Paul reminds us, “Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now… He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:5–6 NIV). What a profound truth. We are in this together, with Christ faithfully at work through and among us.

Cadence International

One of the joys of my job is watching the way the Lord weaves together each missionary’s story, background, and gifting to minister to those they serve in their own special way. Our staff’s creativity, compassion, and commitment open doors for the gospel that might otherwise remain closed. This is certainly true for Cadence staff, Dwight and Letty Grismore, who serve near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Their unique gifts are channels of God’s grace and hope, as they shared in a recent letter to supporters:

“Grismore’s Garage has been busy! One of our airmen melted down a piston on his engine and didn’t have the funds to pay for a shop to fix it. The estimate was around $4,000! I (Dwight) told him that if he was willing to help, we could get a lower-mile engine and do the swap in our garage. Letty supplied us with food and coffee while we worked to get the old engine out and the new one installed. We had a good time wrenching together and had some great conversations as we worked. This also opened the opportunity to perform six oil changes and add several more friends to our Bible study group.”

God’s good design in each of us is a powerful expression of His grace and love as we allow Him to use our gifts and skills, passions and hobbies. God has created each of us uniquely and calls us to participate in the good works He prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:10). Your participation in this ministry makes the gospel tangible to servicemembers through missionaries like Dwight and Letty every day.
