DESCRIPTION
The hospitality house at Travis sits on a four-acre property next to a busy street bordering a part of town that in recent years has had a higher-than-normal crime rate. This is largely due to an increasing homeless population. The bridge over the creek on this property has regularly been occupied by a rotating stream of homeless people who have left the cities of Sacramento and San Francisco. Drug deals and other illegal activities have occurred on the property. The ministry would benefit greatly from a security fence around the perimeter of the property. While loving and caring for the homeless is important, the safety of families and kids at the Travis Hospitality House is also important.
As well, there is also a driveway through the property that connects two roads, making it a thoroughfare for cars who cut through. Cars attempt to avoid traffic on the main road by using the Travis Hospitality House driveway.
A grant has been given which will cover part of the expenses of this project, and a $5,000 matching grant has also been offered. We invite you to consider giving towards the $40,000 cost of this project which will provide safety and security for the ministry.
