DESCRIPTION
A major challenge to living and serving in Spain has been Hope and Jessica’s education. Our options have been limited to homeschooling or an international school in another community 30 minutes away. We are in our third year of homeschooling, and it has been very difficult balancing our ministry responsibilities with schooling the girls. Additionally, there isn’t a homeschool high school co-op, no opportunities to play sports, and limitations for developing friendships.
Seeking another option, the Spanish government recently granted a waiver for the girls to attend the on-base Department of Defense school, only the second such waiver granted since a restrictive educational policy was put into place in 1997. (Retired military families have access to DoD schools everywhere overseas except in Spain.) This school access is on a space-available, tuition-paid basis. We are grateful for this opportunity to keep the girls in our American military community where we serve, which is contingent on raising the needed funds.
For Jessica to attend full-time beginning in the fall of 2025, her schooling will require an annual payment of approximately $20,000. For the current school year of 2024–2025 (Hope is a senior), we need $5,000 to cover their current online enrollment, auxiliary education, and sports programs at the DoD school. Cadence will reduce the allocation of any funds donated to this project, which will help us achieve this goal.
Thank you for considering investing in Jessica and Hope’s education so that we can continue ministering to NAVSTA Rota military personnel and their families more effectively.
If this project is canceled for any reason or if excess funds are raised, any remaining balance will be used to further the ministry of Cadence International. The local ministry raising funds for this project will be given first consideration.
