MINISTRY FOCUS
As a current active-duty member of the Navy, Stan has always had a desire to share the love of Christ with others serving and sacrificing for our country. Introduced to Cadence by Board Chairman John Albers, the inclusive outreach of the ministry to both the officer and enlisted ranks was something that immediately appealed to him. As someone who has always valued all ranks of service, from those who work on the military’s weapon systems to those who operate them, Stan accepted the calling to do more for military personnel and their families who are seeking to grow in their relationships with Jesus.
Stan and his wife April have three children and are currently stationed in Annapolis, Maryland where he teaches history at the U.S. Naval Academy. Before earning his Ph.D. in U.S. History from the University of Maryland, he flew SH-60B and MH-60R helicopters in the Navy for eighteen years. He is the author of Sustaining the Carrier War and has a passion for crabbing and fishing on the Chesapeake Bay.
