MINISTRY FOCUS

Beginning in 2013, Katie spent a year in Stuttgart, Germany ministering to youth, and then moved to Okinawa, Japan, where she was able to spend six more years doing youth ministry. It has been her joy to be able to share her life and the gospel with military teens—joining them at school lunches, equipping them as they dive into God’s Word over coffee, and leading youth groups.

As of July 1, 2021, Katie joined the Mobilization Team at Cadence Headquarters. She will assist in recruiting and will also focus on building and implementing an internship program for Cadence. Her heart is to see others equipped as they go out to serve the Lord.

FAITH

This journey of faith started back in her bedroom at the age of five when she asked Jesus into her heart. Katie stepped out of her room after praying and happily declared to her parents that she had accepted Jesus. Since then, the Lord has graciously been taking her on a journey of faith, continually reminding her that her hope needs to be in Him. God gives her faith to pursue Him, and when her feet get shaky and she’s unsure where to turn, she is sweetly reminded to hope in Him.

FAMILY

Katie grew up in a Cadence family where they moved every four years between Japan and Germany. She and her siblings always teased her parents that it seemed they could not decide which side of the world they wanted to live on! Home was never the location or the building, but instead was the place where God had called them at that moment in time. Home for Katie has been Germany, then Japan for most of her life, and now she is making Colorado home.
