DESCRIPTION
The Soldiers Hospitality House, opened in 2003, is located just 15 minutes from Fort Hood, one of the largest populated military bases in the U.S. with over 40,000 soldiers permanently assigned. Fort Hood is home to the 1st Cavalry Division and 3rd Cavalry Regiment.
The shingles on the Soldiers Hospitality House have reached the end of their life expectancy given the extreme heat and winds in Texas. The tar strips have dried out resulting in broken and missing shingles every month due to high winds. Additionally, we regularly receive water damage when the rain blows from a certain direction due to a ridge vent. During the Texas freeze last year we had an attic full of snow because of the poorly placed ridge vent.
Our goal is to replace the existing roof with a high-quality metal roof that should last for 70 years. The financial goal we have set after receiving multiple quotes is $55,000.
Thank you for partnering with us to maintain the Soldiers Hospitality House for years to come.
