Ralph went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 19, 2018 after finishing his battle with cancer. His daughter Rachel said, “He’s walking, talking and singing again. We are at peace, knowing his joy is complete! It’s time to celebrate the life of a faithful servant who loved the Lord more than anything else in this world and was ready to be free from his earthly vessel.”
After serving in the Army, the Holy Spirit directed Ralph in training for missions at the Moody Bible Institute, Chicago. He soon met his godly wife, Wilma, a senior student, and they were married September 1, 1962. In 1965, his senior year, God let them to serve with Cadence International, and February 1968, they were sent to the Kadena Christian Center, (Kadena Air Force Base) Okinawa, Japan. They have been missionaries with Cadence International for 52 years, and serving in the Hospitality Home outreaches with the military at their nearby bases. They have been training the disciples in evangelism and the Word, helping the missionaries in their work projects in the national Churches, and working with the Chaplains in the Chapel family. God has lead them to serve ten years in Okinawa, Japan, two years at the Subic Bay Servicemen Center, Olongapo City, Philippines, and 34 years with the Marines, Sailors, and families at the Marine Combat Center in 29 Palms, CA. In 2015 they became Ambassadors for Cadence International, a retirement status, and they are still ministering with their limited strength in the Chapel community.
Ralph made many of his life changing decisions in the night months at the Clark Air Base, Philippines. In December ’59, Sid Hendry, Cadence missionary, shared the Gospel of salvation in Christ Jesus with Ralph and he trusted Jesus and His blood redemption at the Subic Servicemen Center, Subic Bay, Philippines.
Their family all lives in Southern California. Daniel and Sharon and their four children are all involved in church activities in Simi Valley. Rachel and Curtis are busy in Pomona with church and their daughter. Leslie and Brandon are busy in New Hall with Cole and soon to have Kent. Ruth is carrying mail near Duarte and is active with Bible study and prayer.
