MINISTRY FOCUS
As a SkillBridge Intern with Cadence International, Dalton Kalas will partner with full-time Cadence staff at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) to share the gospel and his life with the military community. In addition to Friday night Bible studies and dinner, relationships are built and fostered through social events like exploring the Pacific Northwest and attending church services together. Dalton will work with adults in the community by assisting the staff in teaching the Bible, leading small groups, planning an outreach event, and developing fruitful relationships. Dalton will be trained and discipled during his internship to better equip him for Kingdom work.
Dalton first learned about Cadence while initially training for his Army (AIT) job. He has spent most of his Army career in Washington state, where he and his wife Kayti enjoy exploring the area and the outdoors. Dalton desires to serve those in the military by sharing Christ’s love. He wants to share the gospel with them, listen and help bear their burdens, and disciple those who know Christ and try to follow Him daily.
FAITH
Dalton came to faith in Christ when he was six years old after his teacher at a Christian school taught him what it means to be saved. He grew in his faith, but it was not until his college years that he took the opportunity to pursue Christ in a more personal way. Dalton struggled with various aspects of his faith as he navigated some trials during these years and post-graduation, but the Lord graciously grew in him an even stronger faith as a result of these trials. Since joining the military and being introduced to Cadence, Dalton has been provided opportunities to share and exercise his faith, further deepening his relationship with Christ.
Support Opportunities
As a SkillBridge Intern, Dalton receives military compensation and benefits while serving, so he does not need to raise personal funds. However, if you’d like to help support the Cadence Internship Program or the ministry with which Dalton is serving, you can do that at the following links:
