As 2020 ends, we want to thank you for supporting Cadence staff, ministries, and projects. Because of you, military communities are hearing the gospel and lives are being changed.
Take a few minutes to listen to these testimonies and hear about the impact of your partnership with Cadence: Meet the Cadence Community at The Harbor, Okinawa, Japan.
2020 Year-End Giving
If you plan to make a year-end donation, please note that mailed gifts must be postmarked by December 31, 2020 and online donations need to be completed before midnight Eastern Time on December 31.
Alumni RV Project
We love our alumni and want to reconnect with them and their families. To this end, Duncan and Angie will begin a one-year Alumni RV tour across the U.S. beginning in August of 2021. They plan to visit all 27 Cadence U.S. ministry locations and will host events to connect Cadence alumni, supporters, churches, and staff in that area. They will be collecting stories, connecting people, giving Cadence updates, and offering volunteer opportunities with Cadence around the world. What fun!
Got a year-end extra gift you’d like to give to Cadence Alumni for the RV tour? Your gift will be used towards the purchase of an RV or other expenses related to the Alumni RV tour. A trustworthy and roadworthy used RV can cost between $50-$75,000.
Pray for Cadence
Advent and Christmas celebrations will look different in our ministries this year. Pray for the Spirit’s leading as we plan and then hold (and possibly adjust) those plans with open hands. Most of all, may military people and their families be drawn to Jesus the Messiah in this season. Additional prayer requests can be found in our Lifeline.
CARES Act and Charitable Giving
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act) enacted in March 2020 includes an incentive for charitable donations. For 2020 only, taxpayers who do not itemize their deductions may claim a charitable contribution deduction of up to $300 for the taxable year for cash contributions made to a public charity that is not a supporting organization or donor-advised fund. This new provision does not permit an above-the-line deduction for unused charitable contributions carried forward from a prior year. Learn more here.
Join us on a Giving Day
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity that will take place on December 1, 2020.
Colorado Gives Day December 8, 2020. Because our headquarters is located in Englewood, CO, for the last several years we have participated in a local giving movement. COGives Day is more than just a day. It’s a movement that inspires and unites thousands of donors to give where they live and support Colorado nonprofits.
