2015 Conference

Every month, David Schroeder, President of Cadence International, writes a letter to donors. These letters illustrate the heartbeat of the mission and share stories of God's faithfulness. We hope that you are encouraged as you read his reflections.

Unhindered

How was your Thanksgiving celebration?

We had 23 people gathered in our home for the day. Some of us played football, others made leather-bound journals during “craft time,” and some played pool and ping pong. All of us ate a lot of food and enjoyed the sweet fellowship of being together.

These gatherings also took place all around the world with military people in our Cadence hospitality houses. I loved seeing the photos on social media of Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines all gathered in Cadence homes—especially since they were away from their own extended families on that day.

Is there anything in life sweeter than being together? God created us to be in relationship, and when we gather we are reminded that people are what matter most in this life.

Friends, I want to invite you to participate in helping Cadence host an important upcoming gathering this summer. Every five years, we bring all 200 of our staff along with their children from around the globe for a worldwide conference at the Green Lake Conference Center in Wisconsin. This year we will be together again June 24-30, 2020.

Our theme for this conference is Unhindered. It’s the last word Luke wrote in the Book of Acts: Akolutos. It’s a powerful conclusion to the glorious account in Acts of the coming of the Holy Spirit, the establishment and growth of the church, and the expansion of the gospel.

Despite the opposition and challenges to the early church in those days, it is the gospel which gets the last word! We will be celebrating this unstoppable gospel through God’s unhindered church at this important Cadence conference this summer.

Will you help us gather? This event is critical to future ministry to military people, yet it is an expensive undertaking in time and resources. We are asking the Lord to provide $15,000 in special income from His people to assist in underwriting this event. These funds will go toward helping our HQ staff and families attend as well as support the resourcing of the conference.

If you desire to partner with Cadence in this way, you can give by check or online. By mail, use the response slip enclosed and check the box noting the 2020 Conference Fund. Online, visit Cadence.org/2020ConferenceFund to complete your donation.

Thank you for considering this special gift, and may God bless your gatherings of friends and family as you celebrate the birth of our Savior this Christmas season.
